I would like to know - as suggested by Nate in the previous post, did you try installing the latest available drivers for the device in the compatibility mode? If not, please download and save the setup file of the latest available drivers for the device from its manufacturer's website and then try installing the drivers in the compatibility mode and check if that resolves the issue.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I ran into the exact same problem and after 2 days of struggling and searching the net I figured it out by myself in the end. I thought to post my solution here for in case someone else also stumbles onto this thread just like I did. Set it to run in compatibility mode for Win 8 and then installed it. Click on Driver details. I could see that it uses a file called t5sub. Note: I do not think it is needed to install the latest driver in Win 8 compatibility mode like I did at the beginning, but this is just the steps I took.
And I don't want to uninstall everything again just to check, I mean, it is working now, so don't touch it! You might try it by installing t5sub first and see if it works.
