It's much easier to redeem and download the main game on Origin and let it handle all the DLC rather than you having to fanny about with all these workarounds. The reason I bought on Steam in the first place was in the hope I would be able to avoid Origin entirely as I'm not a fan.

However, as that is not possible you might as well let Origin do the whole thing rather than fighting to get Origin and Steam working in tandem. I, like everyone else bought ME2 and at first i did get the Cerberus failed to connect like everyone else.
